This artwork tells the tale of a Hannya, a demon born from a woman consumed by jealousy. Once a beautiful maiden, her heartache transformed her into a fearsome spirit, forever trapped between realms. Encircled by delicate flowers and twisted vines, symbolizing the clash between her lost innocence and vengeful nature, each detail reflects the tragic story of love turned to scorn. I drew on traditional Japanese folklore, blending the mask's fierce expressiveness with the calming beauty of nature.
